Thank you for your interest in Newport Harbor Elks for your event – we consider ourselves to be the best kept secret on the water! While we do allow rentals of our lodge room for non-lodge events, it is best to understand that we are not a professional banquet facility, and therefore we do not operate as one. We are all volunteers so there are no set office hours and many things are not standard when renting our lodge room like they might be for an actual banquet space.
Room rentals are allowed a maximum of 5 hours for their event and 2 hours for decorating. Decorating time starts 2 hours before the event unless other arrangements have been made with the Event Manager. Any additional hours, over the standard 2 allowed, will be charged at an hourly rate of $200.
Rental hours are as follows:
Monday – Thursday 5 PM to 9 PM
Friday 5 PM to 11 PM
Saturday 2 PM to 11 PM
Sunday 2 PM to 8 PM
Rental Fees are as follows:
Lodge Room Deposit $500
Ante Room Deposit $250

Ante Room Rental Fee – $300 (max cap 24)
Lodge Room Rental Fee – $1000 (max 124 with a dance floor/144 without)
Insurance – $169
Non-members
Ante Room Rental Fee – $500 (max cap 24)
Lodge Room Rental Fee – $1500 (max 124 with a dance floor/144 without)
Insurance – $179
Bar Minimums
$500 for up to 50 people, $750 for 51-75 people, $1000 for 76 – 100 people, and $1500 for 101 and over
Drink cost is based on the type of drink and alcohol used. Pricing starts at $4.50 each and goes up from there.
Your bar minimum may be reached in any manner you choose so long as it is met by the night’s end. If you decide to have a non-hosted bar, and your guests do not drink enough to meet that minimum, the difference must be paid by the host(s) of the event.
ABC Permit Fee – $100 made payable to the ABC through a business check, cashier’s check, or money order.
A bartender will not be provided if you host a “dry” event. Therefore, you are responsible for providing all non-alcoholic beverages, ice, and drinkware to serve your guests. If requested, tables for service can be provided.
For any other questions about bar service or costs, please email dyosanovich@hotmail.com.
Security Guards
$125 each – One is required for every 50 guests over the first 50. All weddings require two, regardless of guest count.
***Please note: We do not rent our lodge on Tuesdays and you must provide your own caterer on Thursdays, as ours is unavailable. The rules for bringing in an outside caterer (see below) apply to Thursday rentals. ***
Items included in the room rental fee are as follows:
60” round tables that seat 8 with 85” x 85” square white linens, 6’ banquet tables with 54” x 114” white linens for food service, plates, utensils, napkins, and plastic folding chairs.
Please note: events are set the night before, and because we are all volunteers, there will be no one onsite to change the layout so please be sure you are requesting the appropriate number of tables/chairs. Also, since we have limited storage space, we may not have the space to store things such as podiums and extra chairs so they may have to remain in the room when less seating is required.
Additional linen colors can be provided at $10 per 85” x 85” tablecloth for round tables, $12 per 54” x 114” linen for banquet tables, and $0.90 per napkin.
Decorations and Displays
Newport Harbor Elks Lodge #1767 does not permit any item to be taped, tacked, stapled, or hung from walls, ceiling, fans, Elk Head, doors, or windows, except ceiling drapery. No open flames, confetti, sparklers, string poppers, streamers, or rice are permitted, and nothing shall be thrown indoors or outside at any time. Balloons are allowed with the assurance that the Client(s) will remove them upon the conclusion of the function. If any damage occurs from using and removing any decorations, whether specifically listed in this agreement or not, the repair costs will be charged against the Facility Security Deposit.
Renting outside lounge-style furniture, room drapery, chairs, chair covers, and other decor is allowed as long as you adhere to the above rules.
Alcoholic Beverages
Alcoholic beverages are regulated by the rules set forth by the California Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) and will be controlled solely by the Newport Harbor Elks Lodge #1767. The California Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) requires a one-day license for all non-lodge vents. The fee for this license is $100 and must be in the form of a business check, money order, or cashier’s check made payable to the California Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC). The business check, money order, or cashier’s check must be sent to the Newport Harbor Elks Lodge no less than 15 days before the event. Should you fail to meet this 15-day requirement, no alcohol will be served, including obtaining drinks from downstairs. Client(s) and guests cannot bring alcoholic beverages, except wine or champagne, into the Lodge Facility for consumption. Each bottle opened is subject to a $10 corkage fee. No alcoholic beverages are permitted in the parking lot or outdoors except within the enclosed patio area directly adjacent to the Lodge Room. Due to the type of alcohol permit granted to the Lodge, any beverages brought in, whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic, become the property of the Lodge and cannot be taken with you at the end of the night. All hosted bars require a credit card on file and will be subject to a 20% gratuity. The State of California prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages by any person(s) under the age of twenty-one (21) years of age*.
*It is understood that any violation of this section will immediately terminate the function. It is also understood that no refunds will be made if this rule is violated.
Menu and Service
Printed menus submitted to the Client(s) are “examples and guidelines” for available food and plating options. The 55 Restaurant will gladly customize food choices to meet specific requirements. The 55 Restaurant expressly determines all pricing, and Newport Harbor Elks Lodge has no say in pricing or menu options. To obtain pricing, please email them at TheFifty_Five@yahoo.com.
Should you choose to use an outside vendor for food, Newport Harbor Elks Lodge must approve of the said vendor, and the vendor must include us as an additional insured if they are staying on the property to serve the food. A copy of the certificate of insurance rider must be provided 30 days before the event. If the food is dropped off only, and no catering staff stays on the property, the insurance rider requirement is waived. Tables, chairs, white napkins, and tablecloths are included in the rental fee even if you opt to use an outside food vendor.
*PLEASE NOTE: OUTSIDE CATERERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE OUR KITCHEN, NOR WILL YOU BE GIVEN USE OF OUR PLATES, UTENSILS, OR SERVING IMPLEMENTS. THESE ITEMS MUST BE BROUGHT IN AND TAKEN OUT AT THE EVENT’S END. FOOD PREP IS NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE LODGE OR IN THE PARKING LOT – THAT INCLUDES TACO TRUCKS*
Parking
The parking lot at Newport Harbor Elks Lodge #1767 is for members only after 6 p.m. Any non-member parked in the lot is subject to towing. There is a parking structure across the street for guests to utilize. The hourly fee is $8, maxing $40 for the day.
Sound Levels
Newport Harbor Elks Lodge #1767, in accordance with the Housing Authority of the City of Newport Beach, California, must regulate the exterior sound levels at all times. No amplified public address systems or music may be operated in the Ante Room, on the patio, or in the parking lot areas at any time. All bands, DJs, and renters’ devices, such as computers, iPads, or iPhones, must provide their own amplification source for music and speeches.
All music must stop by 11:00 p.m. The room must be cleared of guests and decor by midnight. The decor can be picked up the following day by noon if the event is on a Friday or Saturday night.
Failure to comply with this restriction will result in the immediate termination of the function.
