To Visiting Yacht Club Members,
Good day, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this letter to introduce myself, my name is Kevin Smith. I am the 2022 Commodore of the Newport Harbor Elks Yacht Club. As an Associate member of the SCYA I am reaching out to see if your Yacht club is open to reciprocity between our Yacht clubs.
We welcome all Yacht Clubs to the Elks Lodge. That being said, the Elks Lodge is a Elks Lodge first with Lodge members governing admittance. Our yacht club is an Adjunct Club to the Elks Lodge. When any of your members would like to visit the Newport Elks Lodge, to avoid any confusion, there needs to be a Yacht Club member in attendance upon any visitation to admit anyone. I know, this sounds cumbersome but these are the Lodge rules. I would like to extend an open invitation to you and all of your members. To do so, I am asking you to inform your members of our procedures to avoid any misunderstanding when they do want to visit, if possible call ahead and tell them you are a SCYA member and would like to visit. If they just show up ask to speak to a bartender to see if there is a yacht Club member in the Lodge there may be no one there. To make it easier to reach a Yacht Club member, I am going to give you the phone numbers of some of my Bridge Officers that anyone can call when they want to visit.
